The Kings County Chronicle later known as The Offaly Chronicle
started publishing photographs one of the first newspapers in the South of Ireland to do so. The Kings County Chronicle was a staunchly unionist newspaper in 1920 the Kings County became Offaly County however the newspaper refused to change its mast head until 1922.
