The Eye-Opener

The Eye-Opener was one Ireland's most vitriolic Irish publication published in the early decades of the twentieth century. Edited by Thomas Dickson a known fraudster the Eye-Opener was an anti-Semitic and sexual salacious journal.

Born in Glasgow Scotland 1885 Thomas Dickson was murdered during an infamous event during the Easter Rising by Captain J.C. Bowen-Colthurst. The Eye-Opener's editor was executed along with Francis Sheehy-Skeffington, Home Ruler, pacifist and women’s rights activist, James Connolly and the execution of Joseph Plunkett hours after his marriage to Grace Gifford and Patrick McIntyre.
