Published in Navan county Meath 1903-1906 much of its commentary centered on the 1903 Wyndham Land Act. The Irish Peasant emerged between. 1903 and 1906, edited for a middle-class Catholic readership by W. P. Ryan, a Gaelic League enthusiast. The Irish Peasant was a short-lived publication created as a result of rural revitalisation. The editor W.P. Ryan insisted it was the only newspaper that advocated the redress of peasant farmer's grievances. The Irish Peasant also encouraged rural communities to create their own prosperity, agriculturally, and industrially. The paper was not against Home Rule rather for preparing for Home Rule.
