Munster Fusiliers Interned in Germany

During August 1914 many of the brave Munster Fusiliers were captured, injured or worse at Mons. A committee of officers from the regiment and their wives was set up to try help alleviate some of the suffering the interned soldiers were going through.  The request for contributions was made in the Irish Independent 04 February 1916 page 1, meaning that these poor soldiers were already interned since August 1914.
